Together we can make downtown Marion “the vibrant heart of our community”. To fulfill this mission DMI has partnered with both public and private organization. Outside of private partnership DMI has partnered with organizations such as The First Church of the Nazarene, The Marion Community foundation, The Marion Convention Visitors Bureau, Marion Regional Planning, Marion Public Health, MarionMade!, and the Marion Area Chamber of Commerce. In collaboration with these organizations we have been able to update and purchase Christmas decorations, provide new flags to adorn the downtown, assist in demolition of the burned buildings on S. Main, the Cardinal Project and more. We have also created new programs such as Paint the Town, the Cultural Corridor, the Cultural Corridor Walking map, A Taste of Marion Mobile Addition, Bike Friendly Businesses, and LoDo. We are excited about continuing our work of beautification, expansion, and support of business in our downtown. Thank you for supporting this event and any other DMI sponsored event. Race day begins at 9am with the first 65 registered runners the second group of 60 runners will begin their race time at 9:05am. The staggered start time will be aid in social distancing. Downtown Marion, Inc. understands some things are just more fun when we share them with our loved ones, with that in mind we will keep all runners grouped together with their family and or friends. The Miles for Marion Game Day 5k will once again begin at the former Marion Rec Center, 240 W. Church St. in Downtown Marion. Participants are welcome to run or walk the 3.1-mile loop in their OSU or Michigan gear. The 5K will be timed by Speedy Sneakers Racing. Early registration include a t-shirt and medal.
Last day of registration for a guaranteed t-shirt will be December 2nd. The t-shirt sizes will range from Adult XXL- Youth Small. T-shirts will only be available to order for free runners, under 9 years old, contact manager@downtownmarion.com for more information.
All funds raised will support Downtown Marion, Inc. DMI is a 501(c)3 organization focused on the revitalization of downtown Marion as a central hub of our community.
