Loveland Frogman Race

Loveland Frogman Triathlon

Loveland, Ohio – Triathlon

The Loveland Frogman triathlon takes place in the beautiful, picturesque Loveland, Ohio. Each leg of the race takes place along the Miami River allowing the participants to enjoy each portion of this event a little more. The biggest year yet, the Frogman reached capacity even before race day!

A day historically filled with sunshine and gorgeous weather; Saturday’s weather did not disappoint! There was sunshine, 80 degree temperatures (definitely cooler than a typical Ohio September day) and a nice breeze to help cool off both the spectators and the participants.

The Event

The Frogman consists of a 5 mile canoe/kayak, 8 mile bike and 5k run/walk. During the canoe/kayak leg along the Little Miami River, participants were able to see the rolling, majestic banks with pristine water. Then, as the participants rode off to begin the bike and run leg, all were able to enjoy a small portion of the Little Miami Scenic Trail – the third longest paved trail in the United States!  With more than a 50% participant return rate, this event has a loyal following. Although participants vary in skill and ability, the Frogman welcomes all.

All participants received a race specific event medal and the overall winner received a brand-new pair of runner’s shoes from one of the Frogman’s sponsors – Jack Rabbit. And the first 50 participants crossing the finish line event received a cold beer as part of their finish.  Participants and finishers had friends and family there to cheer them on as they finished.  Even those at the transition points were able to hear the cheering happening at the other side of the parking lot for those finishing.

This event is hosted by the Little Miami River Chamber Alliance.
